Masses Resume at Sacred Heart 

Quick Reference for attendance

1. Please take the temperature of all family members before leaving for Mass. If you have any symptoms or feel sick please do not come.

2. Holy Mass attendance limit for each Mass is 65.

3. Call Office at 443-8429 or 442-6151 by Friday to reserve your place at Mass. Please provide the following information: A) Full name B) #  of attendees in your party C) Phone D) Mass time This is only for weekend masses. No reservations needed for daily weekday masses. Please provide the following information: A) Full name B) # of attendees in your party C) Phone D) Mass time. NO reservations needed for weekday Mass.

4. Masks are required per County regulations and must cover mouth and nose.

5. Pews are marked for 6 ft. social distancing to be maintained at all times. Family groups that live together are welcome to sit next to one another but should maintain a 6 ft. distancing from other families.

6. Hand sanitizer is to be used. After Masses the church will be disinfected.

7. Communion will be distributed after the final blessing, and we are only allowed to distribute the Lord in hand. No precious Blood will be distributed. After consuming the Holy Eucharist please go directly to your vehicle.

8. Please follow arrows in aisles to keep distancing.

9. You are welcome to join the rosary before Mass while you wait for the Mass to begin.

10. Collection will be at exits to the church. We appreciate your monetary donations at this time to cover expenses.

11. There will be no hymnals provided in the church, but if you have your own you are welcome to bring it.

12. There should be no socializing after Masses.

Eureka Mass Guidelines

Eureka Mass Guidelines during the COVID 19 Pandemic

Important! Please read all of the following guidelines before attending any service at Saint Bernard/ St Joseph/ Sacred Heart Churches during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Attendance at any Catholic religious service in Eureka assumes acceptance of these guidelines. This includes Masses and any other devotional activity.

All Saint Bernard/ Sacred Heart parishioners are required to follow all Federal, State and County regulations regarding the health and well being of our communities at all times on church grounds. Non-compliance will be grounds for immediate removal from premises for the safety of our communities.

Guidelines for all Eureka Catholic Churches:

  1. The dispensation to not attend Sunday Mass from Bishop Vasa remains in effect despite the opening of churches, and will remain in effect until he rescinds it. ​This means you currently have no obligation to attend Mass at the church.​ Masses will be available online via parish websites, and you are welcome to spend time with the Lord at home should you have any misgivings about attending at the church at this time.

  2. In lieu of Sunday Mass, weekday Masses are available if you would like to avoid the crowd and still receive our Lord in communion.

  3. If you feel ill in any way, we polility require you to remain home for Mass. See the guide below for symptoms related to COVID 19.

  4. As per the directions from State and County officials, we are required to limit the capacity of the churches to 25%. Because of this we will need to make arrangements in the church and seating will be carefully managed. Directions given by volunteers must be followed.

  5. With limited seats available at weekend Masses, you will need to sign up to attend weekend Mass with the church office. Please remember when signing up to include all those who will be coming with you and be prepared to leave a phone number. NO reservations are needed for weekday Masses.

  6. Social distancing will remain in effect in all church buildings. A minimum of six feet is required between all family units at all times. Family units are members of the same physical household.

  7. Face masks are required inside church buildings. This covering needs to cover your nose and mouth​when in the building or around others. The State guideline does not require facial masks for those under 12 years old or those with breathing disorders, but they are still highly encouraged if possible.

  8. Before attending services, please take the temperature of all family members. If any are running a fever, please remain at home and do not attend Mass. Wash your hands before coming to Mass.

  9. Upon entering churches, please use hand sanitizer. If you have your own personal sanitizer, that is appropriate.

  10. Children (and adults too!) need to stay with their own household at all times.

Could I have COVID 19?

Please do not attend services at Saint Bernard’s, St. Joseph’s or Sacred Heart if you have any of the following symptoms:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

Some alterations to our liturgical practices are in effect until further notice:

  1. Please arrive early to check in to Mass and be seated. 6 foot distances will be taped off from the door. Please keep 6 feet between you and others for the duration of the service.

  2. Please follow directions taped on the floor, and sit in marked locations only.

  3. You are welcome to join in the rosary before Mass while you wait for Mass to begin.

  4. There will be no hymnals provided in churches. If you have your own, you are welcome to bring it.

  5. Collection will be at exits to church. No hand to hand baskets will be used. We appreciate your monetary donation to assist with our ongoing expenses at this time.

  6. Communion will be distributed after the final blessing, and we are only allowed to distribute the Lord in the hand. No precious Blood will be distributed. After receiving communion, please go directly to your vehicle.

Protocolos, Misas en Eureka durante la pandemia de COVID 19

¡Importante! Lea todas las siguientes instrucciones antes de asistir a cualquier servicio en San Bernardo, San José o el Sagrado Corazón durante la actual pandemia de Covid 19.  La asistencia a cualquier servicio religioso católico en Eureka asume la aceptación de este protocolo. Esto incluye misas y cualquier otra actividad devocional.

Se requiere que todos los feligreses de San Bernardo, Sagrado Corazón sigan todas las regulaciones federales, estatales y del condado sobre la salud y el bienestar en todo momento que estemos en los terrenos de la iglesia.  Se nos pide esto por el bienestar de nuestras comunidades. El no cumplir será motivo de pedirles que se retiren inmediatamente de las instalaciones por el bienestar de usted y seguridad de nuestras comunidades.

Protocolos para todas las iglesias católicas de Eureka:

1) La despension para no asistir a la misa dominical del obispo Vasa sigue vigente a pesar de la apertura de iglesias, y seguirá vigente hasta que sea revocada. Esto significa que actualmente tú no tienes la obligación de asistir a misa. ¿Podría tener COVID 19?

No asista a los servicios en San Bernardo, San José o Sagrado Corazón si usted tiene alguno de los siguientes síntomas:
            ● Fiebre o escalofríos.
            ● Tos
            ● Falta de aliento o dificultad para respirar.
            ● Fatiga
            ● Dolores musculares o corporales.
            ● Dolor de cabeza
            ●Pérdida de sabor u olor recientemente.
            ● Dolor de garganta
            ● Congestión o secreción nasal.
            ● Náuseas o vómitos.
            ● Diarrea

Algunas modificaciones a nuestras prácticas litúrgicas están vigentes hasta nuevo aviso:

1) Llegue temprano a misa para registrarse y siéntese. Las distancias de 6 pies estarán marcadas desde la puerta.  Mantenga 6 pies entre usted y los demás durante los servicios.
2) Siga las instrucciones marcadas en el piso y siéntese solo en lugares marcados.
3) Puedes unirte al rosario antes de la misa mientras esperas que comience la misa.
4) No habrá misales en las iglesias. Si tienes el tuyo, eres bienvenido a traerlo.
5) La colección estará en las salidas de la iglesia. No se utilizarán canastas. Nosotros agradecemos su donación monetaria para ayudar con nuestros gastos continuos en este momento.

Para inscribirse a la misa

Baptism

We ask for a two month notice and baptismal classes are required. Baptismal classes in Spanish are on the last Friday of each month at 7:00 pm. at Sacred Heart and in English on the third Monday of every month at 7:00 pm at St. Bernard Parish for all Eureka churches.

Marriage

Couples intending to marry need to call the parish office at least six months prior to the marriage. Marriage preparation classes are required.

Ministry to the Sick

If you would like to receive the Anointing of the Sick please call the parish office at 707-443-8429 or come to a mass at St. Joseph Hospital on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 11:30 am.
